Ruby Jinnette Obit

Ruby Gower Jinnette, age 86 passed away peacefully at her home on September 12th, after a long illness.

She was born May 14, 1938, in Robertson County to Rayburn and Francis (Head) Gower. She was a 1956 Graduate of Cheatham County Central High School. She married Jimmy Jinnette, February 14, 1964. Ruby was a member of the Quartet Group, The Pleasantaires, singing alto for a long time. Ruby was a member of the Oaklawn Free Will Baptist Church. For many years, she had several positions within the church. She spent her time as a pianist, church secretary, assistant treasurer, VBS worker and singing in the choir. Ruby had many talents. For many years, she made specialty cakes including wedding cakes. She was an excellent cook, which she enjoyed. She also loved working in her vegetable garden and flower gardens. Ruby also loved her cats. Ruby was a devoted Christian who loved serving the Lord. She always put others before herself. She found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Ruby is survived by daughter, Jama Vollmar (Steve) and grandsons, Brandon and Justin Vollmar, Bowling Green, Ohio and son, Allen Jinnette, Nashville. Sister Sue Gower Naron of Murfreesboro. Nephews, Ray Blessing (Sandy) of Clarksville, and Randy Blessing (Kim) of Greenbrier, Niece, Linda Blessing of Clarksville, and several great nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death, husband, Jimmy Jinnette, parents Rayburn and Francis Gower, Sister Evelyn Gower Blessing and in-laws, Earl and Lucille Jinnette.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 o’clock pm, Tuesday, September 17, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Danny Thompson, Bro. Gene Parton, and Bro. Zach Vickery officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham with Brandon Vollmar, Justin Vollmar, Ray Blessing, Randy Blessing, Johnny Palmore, Dwight Comer, and Drew Comer serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 16th from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service at 1:00 pm.

The family wishes to express our appreciation for the excellent care of Ruby by Dr. Maria Dongas, Dr. Kenneth Vargas and Alive Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice in Nashville Tennessee.
