This is the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Report for August 26, 2022, provided by the Sheriff’s Office.

SHERIFF’S REPORT: MY LAST WORDS, OR ALMOST?

What a humble honor to have been your sheriff for these last eight years!
And now, I’m so excited our next sheriff, TIM BINKLEY, will be sworn in on August 31st.
A great leader for a grateful county!

Thank you to all citizens who accepted me, as your next county commissioner!
I will serve you with honor and respect. A new era will soon begin and I will continue to make sure your safety and security is my number one priority!!

I’m going to sorely miss writing short stories penned for you each week. I love informing my readers and many fans across the nation about nefarious and unacceptable misbehaving on traveled roads from Bearwallow to Bald Eagle.

Your deputies will continue the serious work of protecting you. They are our happy hunters. Wily predators will continue to be scared of them.

I plan to push into a new chapter but stay close by. Maybe I will take you on a behind the scenes journey of an investigator’s determination to solve murders. I want to invite you into a room with the most ruthless and interesting killers who sat across from me the past thirty years. Will you sit with me in that stark setting, while you and I put a grisly puzzle together?

I’m also considering publishing my formally censored, “Too Hot for Facebook Reports’ ‘ -Serious reflections and ramblings about naked drunkards who deceive their diabolical girlfriends,” only if the FB hall monitors won’t censor me this time. (They know what’s best for you and me to read, don’t they?)

My humble appreciation to all who loved or hated my writings. All I wanted was for you to have another week to be informed, laugh or scowl together. At the end of each day, love actually overcomes everything.

You gave me a chance when I asked for your vote.
You took my word when I promised we would make you safe.
You stood beside your servants when we delivered on our word.
And you showed unwavering compassion to our deputies during their darkest times.

Thank you again, my wonderful Facebook family and especially all who accidentally stumbled across these American tales of a little county, we call Cheatham…
