September 13, 2025 – Vanderbilt defeated South Carolina 31-7 at Williams-Brice Stadium, improving to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play while the Gamecocks fell to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in SEC action.
The Commodores controlled the game with explosive plays and defensive turnovers. After trading first-quarter touchdowns, Vanderbilt pulled away with a second-quarter scoring drive and never looked back.

Pavia completed 72% of his passes for two touchdowns, including an 18-yard strike to Sedrick Alexander and a 5-yard pass to Junior Sherrill that gave Vanderbilt a 14-7 halftime lead.
Jamezell Lassiter’s 44-yard touchdown run in the third quarter extended the lead to 21-7. Vanderbilt’s ground game totaled 146 rushing yards on 37 attempts.

Alexander carried 13 times for 41 yards and added a 2-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also caught two passes for 26 yards.
Vanderbilt’s defense forced two interceptions and recovered two fumbles while limiting South Carolina to 86 rushing yards. The Commodores controlled possession for over 35 minutes and sealed the victory with a 51-yard field goal by Brock Taylor.
