Dec 27, 2024 – Diego Pavia threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as Vanderbilt defeated Georgia Tech 35-27 in the Birmingham Bowl at Protective Stadium.
The Commodores (7-6) took control early when Pavia connected with Cole Spence for a 7-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Though Georgia Tech (7-6) tied the game on Ryland Goede’s 2-yard catch, Vanderbilt pulled ahead for good before halftime.
The Yellow Jackets attempted a late comeback with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes from Haynes King to Jamal Haynes and Bailey Stockton, but couldn’t overcome the deficit.
