Flood Watch

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following counties, Bedford, Cheatham, Coffee, Davidson, Dickson, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Humphreys, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Perry, Rutherford, Wayne and Williamson.

* WHEN…From late tonight through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Remnants of Hurricane Isaias will move north and bring periods of heavy rain to Middle Tennessee. Widespread totals of 1-3" of rain are expected with locally higher amounts possible.

Moderate Flood Watch is in effect for Cheatham County from late tonight through Sunday morning. Excessive rainfall could lead to flooding in the area.

Current conditions in Cheatham County at 1:44 PM show a temperature of 85.5°F with light winds out of the southwest at 9.1 mph. The sky is overcast, and there has been no recorded precipitation so far.

This afternoon, a high of 87.1°F is expected, with winds reaching up to 9.4 mph. As we move into tonight, temperatures will drop to a low of 70°F, with winds diminishing slightly to around 7.1 mph. The chance of precipitation remains low at 1%.

In addition to the Flood Watch, a Minor Wind Advisory has also been issued, indicating conditions that may result in gusty winds. Residents should remain aware of the potential impacts of excessive rainfall and prepare for changing weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
