Today, there are more than 4,200 commercial and charity-run haunted house attractions in the United States, however it was not until the opening of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion in 1969 that anyone thought of them becoming a for-profit venture. Now they are part of the Halloween industry that is expected to produce $13.5 billion in 2026.
Here are 13 haunted attractions in Middle Tennessee that are sure to give a rousing Halloween fright. They are all open through the end of October and some into early November.

Experience the new outdoor Hillbilly Hollar where ghosts from old mining days wander the haunted woods. Not for those under ten or the faint of heart.

Nashville Nightmare

One of the top five haunted houses in the United States. It offers multiple experiences and two hidden bars for those over 21. Activities include the Jason Universe, Vector Research XIII, Fairytale Hell, Creature Feature, and House of Horrors. There are also min escape games and a Zombie Apocalypse Training Facility. Deadland Haunted Woods

Multiple attractions at one location, it features two haunted trails, an escape room, concessions, food truck, a gift shop and a roaring bonfire for those brave enough to enter. Tickets start at $22 with a pass to do the two haunted trails at $40. VIP options available. Open from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Animatronic tableaus sure to haunt created by Nashville artist Tim Davis and DaVinci Works. This attraction does not feature jump scares, it is instead gothic and atmospheric. Adults are $18 and children ages 3 through 5 are $8. Hours are 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Beast House

A money back guarantee to be frightened horror attraction. The Beast House is located in what is left standing of the original Isaac Kechem Mansion of the late 1890’s. He brutally murdered his family then committed suicide in 1899. Visitors roam the original hallways and rooms where Kechem lived and killed, experiencing a piece of Nashville history with an unmatched story of murder and betrayal.
Added in 2025, a second house called Chaos and other experiences. Tickets start at $29.99 per person. Hours vary by day, check the calendar on their website for times.

Twisted Nightmares Haunted House

Pelham, Tennessee
Here guests will face their most terrifying nightmares at the location of the old Valley Home School. Located in the foothills of Southeast Tennessee is the small community of Pelham Valley in which the Valley Home School existed.
A fundraiser for the Pelham Valley Fire and Rescue, tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children. Hours are 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.
