Andrew (Jack) Bates, age 69, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 7, 1951, in Puryear, Tennessee. He was a member of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and retired from Sun Trust bank with over 30 years in the banking business. Preceding him in death are his parents, Johnny Bates and Louise (Armistead) Brogdon; brother, Lloyd Clark; and step-father, Albert Brogdon. Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda (Cannon) Bates; son, Jeff (Melinda) Bates; daughter, Kristen (Adam) Liles; granddaughter, Emily Liles, and grandson, Andrew (AJ) Liles; as well as many extended family and friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 1 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Shiloh Hackett officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, June 25th, from 3 pm to 7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until service hour of 1 pm. Serving as active pallbearers are Jim Dixon, Bobby Price, Ricky Thomas, Mark Cannon, Steve Johns, Carl Evans, Eric Collier, and Bryant Newell.
