Animal Rescue Corps recently saved more than 100 dogs from terrible conditions inside a Joelton home on Wednesday.
The Middle Tennessee animal rescue group went to the property with a warrant after Cheatham County Animal Control got a tip from a concerned resident. Inside, they found over 100 small dogs—Yorkshire Terriers, Maltese, Havanese, and poodles—living in severe neglect. At least one dog was found dead. Many of the animals were loose in the house, while some puppies were kept in cages.
These dogs and puppies are in immediate need of rescue and medical, physical, and social care at ARC’s Rescue Center outside Nashville, and, as they are ready, placement with vetted shelters to find loving homes. To donate visit here.
The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office says it is helping Animal Control investigate the suspected cruelty.
The rescued dogs will need time to recover, but once they’re healthy and ready for adoption, Animal Rescue Corps will share where people can find them.
Animal Rescue Corps, based in Middle Tennessee with a shelter in Gallatin, often helps local agencies across the country with large-scale animal cruelty cases. Along with rescuing the animals, they bring forensic vets who gather evidence to help prosecutors hold abusers accountable.
