Even in the midst of an incredible 37-year career earmarked by unforgettable moments, iconic PLATINUM Rock band Better Than Ezra continues to break ground and enjoy a few very significant and special “firsts.” Comprising of Kevin Griffin, Tom Drummond, Jim Payne, and Michael Jerome, the group will make their Grand Ole Opry debut on Wednesday, September 24, playing on one of music’s most hallowed stages for the very first time. Joining a lineup that includes Maggie Rose, Flatland Cavalry, and Gary Mule Deer, tickets are on sale and available here.

Although born in Georgia and raised in Louisiana, the founder and frontman, Griffin, has called Tennessee home for many years, making this revered moment even more special. Fittingly, the evening will be the perfect primer for the band’s set just days later during the 11th annual Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, TN, on September 27 & 28. Better Than Ezra will be making their eighth appearance on the bill of the festival co-founded and produced by Griffin. The must-attend festival has become a tradition for an ardent community of annual attendees, while it continues to captivate newcomers as well. Tickets are available here.

Back in July, Better Than Ezra unveiled an energetic and engaging cover of Role Model’s hit “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out,” available on all streaming platforms now, listen here. They’ve Ezra-fied the song in the best way, making summer fireworks out of the friction between Gen-Z viral excitement and Gen-X vital energy.

Last year, Better Than Ezra released their tenth album and first full-length LP in a decade, Super Magick. Griffin co-produced the effort alongside GRAMMY® Award winner Emery Dobyns [Patti Smith, Suzanne Vega, The Black Crowes].

2025 notably marks the 30th anniversary of Better Than Ezra’s PLATINUM-certified classic breakout album, Deluxe. Of course, it houses staples such as “In the Blood,” “Rosealia,” “Porcelain,” and the generational hit “Good,” which soared to #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks Chart. Indicative of the record’s enduring impact, the song has amassed north of 100 MILLION total streams.
