A recent structural inspection determined that the Cheatham County Central High School football bleachers need to be replaced.
Due to the project timeline, there will be no home football games at CCCHS for the 2024 season. The current concrete bleachers, which are about 50 years old, were recently demolished to make way for new aluminum bleachers. Unfortunately, the new bleachers will not be ready in time for the upcoming football season.
The CCCHS football team will play its five home games away this season. This means the Cubs will play at James Lawson on August 23, at Harpeth on August 30, at White House Heritage on September 13 and at Sycamore on October 11. The September 27 home game against Jo Byrns will be played at Sycamore as this will be the CCCHS Homecoming game.
“One of the Cheatham County School District’s top priorities is to provide students, families, staff and the community with the safest schools possible. Friday night football is important in the lives of our CCCHS students and community, and we want everyone to have the best game experience we can provide to create those lasting memories. However, we also want everyone to be as safe as possible while enjoying the games,” Cheatham County School District said.
The district will also install bleachers on the visitor side of the football field, which will be a first at CCCHS.
Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
