Due to widespread flooding and continued hazardous road conditions across the county, the Cheatham County School District will be closed on Monday, April 7.
The extended daycare program will operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and those students should bring a lunch. There will be no extra-curricular school activities on Monday. Communication regarding the community use of school facilities and athletics will be shared with affected organizations as well as athletic directors and coaches.
Dozens of roads that the district services are either currently damaged and/or impassable. It is difficult for us to identify every road we service. If your road has been affected, please email us at [email protected]. If your child has a need as a result of the tornado that touched down in Kingston Springs, please contact his/her school or email [email protected].
Monday’s closure will exceed the district’s inclement stockpile days by one day for this school year. However, with Governor Lee issuing a State of Emergency and requesting an Emergency Declaration for Tennessee, the district will request a waiver from the Tennessee Department of Education.
