Cheatham County School District officials say they are closely monitoring the weather forecast as potential winter weather could impact school operations into next week.
District leaders say student and staff safety remains a top priority, and they are in regular communication with the National Weather Service and Cheatham County emergency management officials.
Out of an abundance of caution, the district’s extended daycare program will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 23. Decisions regarding Friday night sporting events will be made late Thursday after updated weather information becomes available.
There will be no extracurricular activities or community use of school facilities, including youth basketball, on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25.
If schedule changes are needed next week, families will be notified through the district’s mass notification system, social media platforms, and local television stations. Families are also encouraged to have childcare plans in place in the event of any schedule adjustments.
