Chipotle To Bring Back Mesquite-Smoked Brisket for the Heart of Football Season
With a history of selling out earlier than anticipated, Smoked Brisket returns to restaurants for a limited time beginning November 5

Chipotle Smoked Brisket is coming back to restaurants across the U.S. and Canada starting November 5. The limited-time protein has a habit of selling out fast, and this year’s return is timed for football weekends, rivalry games and watch parties. The brisket is smoked for hours over mesquite wood before it ever reaches a Chipotle kitchen. More Eat & Drink News

How Chipotle Prepares Its Smoked Brisket

The brisket starts with Chipotle’s Responsibly Raised beef. The company estimates only about 5% of U.S. beef meets its standards, which call for cattle raised on a vegetarian diet without added growth hormones or routine antibiotics, with traceability back to the ranch.

The beef is seasoned with spices that include smoked serrano and chipotle chili peppers, then smoked over mesquite wood. In restaurants, team members sear it on the plancha, add more spices, toss it in a sauce made with smoky chili peppers and hand-chop it in small batches throughout the day.

A Smoked Brisket Bowl Built for Game Day

Chipotle’s culinary team suggests a burrito bowl for game day with these ingredients:

  • White rice
  • Pinto beans
  • Smoked Brisket
  • Fresh tomato salsa
  • Tomatillo-red chili salsa (light)
  • Cheese
  • Queso Blanco

That bowl comes in at 45 grams of protein and 11 grams of fiber.

Creators Head Into the Kitchen for the Brisket Return

To mark the comeback, Chipotle brought brisket superfans into its restaurant kitchens to see how the protein is made. The group includes food creators Max Greb (Max the Meat Guy) and Newton Nguyen (Newt), plus reality star and longtime Chipotle fan Carl Schmidt.

The new ads build on Chipotle’s 100 Creators campaign, which launched in August. Created with agency partner KIDS, the spots follow the fans as they work alongside Chipotle team members to prepare the brisket, filmed from their own point of view.
