Carlee Darnell has been named the new Dean of Students at East Cheatham Elementary School.
Darnell comes to ECES from Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy, where she has taught fourth grade, third grade and kindergarten since 2013.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University and master’s degree from Carson-Newman University.
Darnell was named the Cheatham County School District’s Elementary School Teacher of the Year for the 2025-2026 school year.
“While leaving the classroom is bittersweet, I’m excited to have the opportunity to become part of a school community that is committed to student success and leadership. I look forward to partnering with families, supporting staff, celebrating student achievements, and helping create an environment where students are excited to come to school every day. I see this role as an opportunity to serve, lead, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, and that is something I am truly passionate about,” she said.
