April 15, 2025 – A Franklin woman was arrested Friday after allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband.
Angelia Solomon, 53, is charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder against her ex-husband, former WSMV Channel 4 news anchor Aaron Solomon.
According to police, the arrest occurred on April 11 in the parking lot of Cool Springs Galleria, where Solomon met with an undercover officer posing as a contract killer, News 2 reports. She allegedly offered future payment, provided her vehicle registration as collateral, and gave details on how to locate her ex-husband. She reportedly stated she wanted him “to disappear and to be put underground.”
Investigators say Solomon believed her ex-husband’s death would give their daughter access to a trust fund. Her arrest followed a tip from a concerned citizen.

In a 2024 interview, Solomon accused Aaron of causing their son Grant’s 2020 death, which authorities later ruled accidental. Their daughter, Gracie, has also accused Aaron of sexual abuse in a YouTube video. He has not been charged in either case.
Angelia Solomon is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation. No further details have been released.
