Harpeth welcomes new band director

The Harpeth High School Band of Blue welcomes Dr. Lindsey Vincent as its new director.

Dr. Vincent, a Fairview native, graduated from Creek Wood High School in 2009. In 2014, she graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in music education from Bethel University in McKenzie.

Dr. Vincent obtained her Master of Philosophy in music composition from Trinity College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland with upper second-class honors in 2017. She recently completed her PhD in music composition under Dr. Evangelia Rigaki at Trinity College Dublin.

In addition to being an award-winning composer, Dr. Vincent has been a percussion instructor for 12 years, with 5 of those years being at Harpeth. She has taught percussion at several schools across Middle Tennessee as well as with the esteemed Beeches Performance Ensemble in Birmingham, England.

Outside of music, Dr. Vincent enjoys traveling, languages, reading, Doctor Who, Pokémon, Nightmare Before Christmas, and taking care of her island on Animal Crossing.

Dr. Vincent is ecstatic to be a part of the Harpeth community and to begin this educational and musical journey with some of the most incredible students, parents, and fellow educators that one could possibly have.
