The holiday season is a busy time in Cheatham County. There is lots to do and see. The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association is selling a 2025 ornament. You can purchase them at the gift shop during business hours (835 S Main St, Ashland City, TN). And there are lots of tree lighting events, parades and opportunities to purchase gifts made from local craftpeople. Here is a list of the major events.

Tree Lighting Ceremony at South Cheatham Library

This event kicks off the holiday season in Kingston Springs. There will be a detour around the library area via Westview Drive and Moores Circle will be in place from 6:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Public Safety Officers will be onsite to assist with traffic flow.

Pleasant View Tree Lighting Ceremony

Join us as we sing carols and light the city’s Christmas tree! The Pleasant View Girl Scouts and local churches will help lead participants in song. Treats will be provided to eat and drink. The city sponsors the event to bring forth the Christmas season.

This is an annual, festive walk-through experience featuring dozens of uniquely decorated trees, twinkling lights, and holiday cheer at every turn! The tree lighting takes place on December 5 at 6:00 p.m., Paws and Claus offering photos of pets with Santa takes place on December 9 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Not-so-Silent Night will occur on December 12 at 6:00 p.m. This is a magical hour of live Christmas music featuring a full band and talented singers, all set on the stage at the beautiful Christmas Tree Trail! The first 100 guests will receive a free drink from the Daily Press Coffee truck—perfect for keeping warm while you enjoy the show!

Alisha Dozier Duncan is the Grand Marshall of the 2025 parade. Many participants will be throwing candy along the parade route, plus the Pleasant View Jeepers Club will be accepting new,unwrapped toys for the Pleasant View Toy Drive. The parade travels from the north end of the bypass (12 North) south on Highway 12, through the center of town, and ends at Riverbluff Park after turning right onto the bypass.

This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Songs”! Whether it’s “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” or “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” floats will be decorated with the theme and crews dressed to it. Let the music of the season inspire holiday celebrations. It will be the most musical and magical parade yet!The parade route will go from the north end of Main Street (Clarksville Side) to the south end of Main Street (Nashville Side).
