Ashland City police used license plate recognition technology to help identify a suspect in a liquor store theft reported in October.
Officers received a report of the theft on Oct. 18, 2026. During the investigation, police used the department’s license plate recognition (LPR) system to identify and track a vehicle believed to be connected to the theft.
Information gathered through the system provided additional leads that helped investigators identify a suspect, according to the Ashland City Police Department.
On Nov. 4, officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and arrested Michael Lowe on an out-of-county warrant. He was also charged with possession of narcotics and driving on a revoked license.
Police continued investigating the theft and obtained additional information and evidence on Nov. 5, leading to formal theft charges being filed against Lowe.
