More than 100 people took the plunge at the Cheatham County Polar Plunge over the weekend at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City, the county said in a Facebook post.
The event benefitted Cheatham County Special Olympics and raised more than $23,000, adds Cheatham County leaders.
Among those that took the plunge included Mayor Smith and City Council member Kevin Thompson and other City Council and Planning Commission members cheered them on. The Ashland City fire, police and parks departments assisted with the event as well.
