Arnold Warren Simpkins, Age 101, October 8, 2025.
Mr. Simpkins was born March 22, 1924 in Ashland City, TN, the son of Talmadge Dewitt and Betty Simpkins. He was a dedicated Christian, and lifelong member of Oakland Free Will Baptist Church, where he proudly served as a Deacon for many years. He also proudly served our country as a member of the US Army from 1943-1946 during WWII, serving in the European Theater, and then another three years in the National Guard. He was also the longest standing member of the local VFW Post 6181.
He worked for the Nashville Electric Service for 40 years, spending about the last 35 years in retirement. Mr. Simpkins was a loving husband, and proud Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He loved spending time with his many friends and family, eating out, especially at Wendell Smith’s, Riverview Restaurant, and Mission Bar-B-Que. He will be deeply missed by all who knew, and loved him.
Mr. Simpkins was preceded in death by his parents; Talmadge and Betty Simpkins, Daughter; Barbara Jane Morgan, and his granddaughter; Sophia Langford. He is survived by his Children; Gary Warren Simpkins (Fe), Steven Lee Simpkins, Jeffery Dean Simpkins, Linda Gayle Moore, Son-in-law; Don Morgan, Grandchildren; Chris Hensley (Janan), Kevin Hensley (Ashley), Eric Simpkins (Sara), Shirley Langford (Wayne), Daniel Simpkins, Catie Simpkins, Tammy Morgan, Timmy Morgan, Ralph Morgan, Ronnie Morgan, and Robert Morgan, Great-grandchildren; Jack Hensley, Charlie Hensley, and Fiona Langford.
Visitation with the family will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2025, immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 1 PM, officiated by Rev. David Weeks, at Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth Street, Ashland City, TN 37015. Interment With Military Honors will be held at 2:30 PM at Carney-Demonbreun Cemetery, Carney Cemetery Road, Ashland City, TN 37015.
