Ashton Marcell McGowan, age 27, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at his home after a long, hard fought battle with substance abuse.
Ashton was born on May 13, 1996, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Bo & Mayme McGowan.
He worked in the manufacturing business and was a huge fan of the Memphis Grizzlies. Ashton also loved playing basketball & video games with his children.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Marcell Palmore & Dale Hunter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Ivy Marian McGowan & Anakin Lee McGowan; mother of his children & girlfriend, Morgan Sweeton; brother, Brady McGowan; sister, Emma McGowan; grandparents, Bob & Peggy McGowan and Marian Palmore Hunter; aunt, Pam McGowan; uncle & aunt, Johnny & Sue Palmore; and cousins, Bob (Sarah) Palmore and Ben (Ashley) Palmore.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 28th, with Gary Voorhies officiating. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 27th, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM.
