Bertie Jane Carney, Age 85, September 16, 2025.
Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Lucy Moore, her brother; Russ Moore, and her sister; Helen McBroom. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband; Donald W. Carney, her children; Donald David Carney, Dena Louise Carney, Nancy Holt Jones, Marvin Jones (Angie), Steve Jones (Melissa), and Mark Jones (Jennifer). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; April and Katie Jones, Tasia Rittenberry (Chris), Hailey Rediker, Michael Rediker, Mylie Williams, Tanner Meador, and Mackenzie Tuck (Taylor), and 23 Great-Grandchildren.
Bertie worked for the Metro Davidson County School System for about 30 years. She was very passionate about her puzzles, which she worked on constantly. She also spent many hours baking cookies and cakes, especially for her husband’s birthday cakes, and for family holidays. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.
Visitation with the family will be held from 10 AM till 1 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2025, with the Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM, at Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth Street, Ashland City, TN 37015. Interment will be at 2 PM at the Carney-Demonbreun Cemetery, Ashland City, TN.
