Carney Harris Elliott “Bub”, age 95 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, October 18, 2021 at his residence in Arcadia Assisted Living Facility in Clarksville.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 20th, with Bro. Jake Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield with John Medley, Mike Davis, Mark Barnett, Aaron Denton, Scott Elliott, and Eric Lundgren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are John Davis, Ellis Durham, David Elliott, Bro. Jimmy Jackson, the Ashland Masonic Lodge 607, and the Deacons of Harmony Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 20th from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM.
Mr. Elliott was born on May 27, 1926 in Stroudsville, Tennessee to the late Richard Carney & Mary Harris Elliott. He served in the United States Army and was retired from the United States Corps of Engineers. He was a member of Ashland Masonic Lodge 607 and was a founding father of Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Elliott was an avid amateur archaeologist who was a member of the American Association of Amateur Archaeologists. He served as Deacon Emeritus at Harmony Baptist Church where he was a member.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Carney Stephen Elliott; brother, Ralph Elliott; and nephew, Larry S. Elliott.
Survivors include his loving wife of 74 years, Anne Elliott; great-niece, Jaime Michelle Denton; great-nephews, David Michael Elliott and Stephen Scott Elliott; and cousins, John Medley, Mike Davis, John Davis, and Ginger Williams.
