The world lost a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother on June 13, 2023. Carolyn Faye Pape, age 72, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Carolyn was born on May 5, 1951 in Farmington, Michigan to the late Lloyd & Alice Nicholson Lawson.

She was a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of many. She peacefully passed away, leaving behind cherished memories.

Raised in California, Carolyn embraced her identity as a “valley girl” and treasured her experiences growing up in the Golden State. However, it was in Tennessee that she found her true sense of belonging. Carolyn’s warm heart and welcoming nature made her a beloved member of her community.

Above all, Carolyn was a devoted mother who wholeheartedly invested her time and love in her children’s lives. She actively participated in their school activities and extracurricular pursuits, serving as their constant source of support and encouragement. This dedication extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found immense joy in watching her grandchildren blossom. Whether it was cheering Makenna on during her dance performances or attending Luke, Weston, and Garrett’s football games and wrestling matches, Carolyn reveled in their achievements and took pride in their accomplishments.

One of Carolyn’s passions was her love for the musical “Wicked.” Her enthusiasm for the show was unparalleled, and she proudly boasted having seen it an impressive 19 times. Her deep appreciation for the arts showcased her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Carolyn possessed a unique gift—the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she encountered. Her friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others made her a beloved figure in her community. Whether it was a neighbor or a stranger in an elevator, Carolyn’s ability to connect with people left a lasting impression. Her absence leaves an immense void in the lives of those who knew her best.

Carolyn’s loving nature, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness will be deeply missed. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us hold on to the memories of her warm conversations, her unwavering support, and her passion for life.

Carolyn’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who carry her love and spirit within them. May her memory inspire us to approach life with the same warmth and kindness that she exemplified.

In loving memory of Carolyn, may she find eternal peace. Her legacy will forever remain in our hearts, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James “Jim” Pape; daughter, Lisa (Robby) Johnson; son, Steven (Jill) Pape; grandchildren Makenna Lane, Luke Pape, Weston Pape, and Garrett Johnson.
