Daniel Waldo Cook “Dan”, age 74, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home.

Dan Cook, born on June 11, 1950, in Gates, Tennessee, to the late Harold T. Cook and Lillian Richardson Cook, passed away surrounded by his loved ones.

Dan cherished moments with his son, family, friends, and fellow veterans. He found joy in traveling, shooting, camping, riding Harley’s, and serving his community. A dedicated member of Ashland Lodge #604 F&AM alongside his son Noah. Dan held a special place in his heart for his Church Family at Ashland City Free Will Baptist.

Dan’s commitment to service was marked by over 20 years in the military, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as an assistant District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District and maintained a successful private law practice since 1991. Despite his accomplished careers, Dan often reflected that his most fulfilling times were spent as the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 987, a troop he founded.

Dan Cook will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, community, and family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in those around him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Felix “BR” Cook and Harold Richard “Rick” Cook.

He is survived by his son, Noah Cook (girlfriend, Olivia Buchanan); aunt, Patsy Langley and her children, Connie Langley Wood, Mary Langley and Frank Langley; niece, Katie Cook Brown; and a host of other loving family members.
