Donald Howard Walker, age 80, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born in Ashland City, Tennessee, on July 5, 1943, the youngest child of Howard and Agnes (Sanders) Walker.

Don graduated from Cheatham County Central High School Class of 1962. He attended Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church and Hope Worship Center. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, receiving many awards including a bronze star. Like his father, he served as Fire Chief of the Ashland City Fire Department before retiring in 1994. He worked and retired from CEMC as a lineman for over 50 years. Don will always be remembered for his selfless actions for others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Agnes Walker. He is survived by his brother, James Murriel Walker (Shirley); sister, Eva Jean Farmer; devoted loving pet, Gigi; special friends, Paul Nichols (Connie), Wayne Justice (Peggy), and Doris Sanders.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, with Brother Wayne Bess and Pastor Rick Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 2 pm to 7 pm and Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 10 am until the service hour of 1 pm. Serving as active pallbearers will be Paul Nichols, Dan Dowlen, Bubba Evans, B.J. Hudspeth, Dwight Thornton, Ronnie Balthrop, and Harris Nicholson. Honorary pallbearers are CEMC employees, past and present members of the Ashland City Fire Department, and his fellow Vietnam Veterans.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cheatham County Veterans Memorial Park or Bethlehem Cemetery.
