Donald Ray Wells, age 84, of Roanoke, Virginia, died Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his son’s residence in Pleasant View, Tennessee.
Mr. Wells was born on October 7, 1940, in Roanoke to the late Roy & Ruby Hartman Wells.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired after many years from Lewis Gale Medical Center.
He also worked as a policeman, deputy sheriff, data coordinator, and brakeman & conductor with the railroad.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Wells; and sister, Shirley McCoy.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Wells; sons, Gregory (Jessica) (William) (Robin) Wells and Jay (Christine) Wells; brothers, Sonny (Carolyn) Wells, Toby (Nancy) Wells, Sandy (Sue) Wells, and Skip (Pam) Wells.
His remains will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
