Dora Ellen Lynn, age 81, of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1943, in Sparta, Tennessee, to the late Clyde and Lily Stewart. She is survived by her brother, Clyde Mack Stewart Jr., lovingly known as “Buddy.” Dora Ellen was the devoted wife of Bobby Joe Lynn and a loving mother to her five children: Evonne (Doug) Davison, Joe (Renee) Lynn, Henry (Wanda) Lynn, the late Evette Lynn Allison, Annette (Jason) Edens, and son-in-law Jason (Amy) Allison.
She was a proud grandmother to 23 grandchildren: Robert Lynn (deceased), India Roberts, Ashley Motley, Rachel Fite, Amber Wynne, Catherine Allison, Brittany Crouch, Amanda Davison, Rebecca Curry, Tess Thompson, Stephanie Bond, Andrew Davison, Benjamin Lynn, Cory Edens, Jr. Lynn, Matthew Davison, Jon Lynn, Bailey Provo, Brette Fields, Olivia Neblett, Sydney Allison, Blake Provo, and Blake Allison. She also leaves behind 26 cherished great-grandchildren.
After marrying young, Dora Ellen started her family first as the wife of a sailor and later as a hard-working farmer’s wife. However, Dora Ellen never forgot her dream of finishing school as she eventually returned to get her GED and, with fierce determination, proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from TSU (Tennessee State University) – a true inspiration to her family and friends!
She became a Registered Dietitian, known for her deep compassion and her ability to bring comfort and healing to patients – especially when others could not. Dora Ellen was always the loudest and most enthusiastic cheerleader anyone could have. It didn’t matter if you were her child or not – she was going to yell for you, or at you, at a ballgame. Her enthusiasm made her a favorite at everyone’s games. Did it embarrass her children or grandchildren sometimes? Absolutely! But they couldn’t help but love her for it anyway.
Her happy place was being surrounded by her family. She loved all the babies and passed on that love to her children and grandchildren. Truly, nothing brought her more joy than seeing her family together. Dora Ellen was known by all for her vibrant spirit and joyful laughter. She loved making others laugh and treasured every shared moment of joy. She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, humor, and the deep love she gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Pegram Church of Christ (5019 Walkup Rd, Pegram, TN 37143). Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
