Dorothea Jean (Stone) Daggs, known as “Dot”, 85, of Ashland City, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 3, 2023 at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.
Born April 22, 1938 in Charleston, WV to the late George and Mary (Peters) Stone. She is a graduate of Charleston High School.
Preceded in death by her husband Marvin Francis Daggs; son Carl Francis Daggs; grandchildren Jeffery Duane Halstead, Tiffany Diane Sloan and Eric Francis Daggs; sister Abby Daggs and brother-in-law Edward Daggs; brothers Kenneth Stone, David Stone, George Stone and Tad Stone; son-in-law Charles Kirk.
Survived by her children Marvin Daggs (Cindy), Ralph Daggs (Mark Buttram), David Daggs (Peggy), Anita Kirk (Wallace Harvey) and Lisa Daggs. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Brothers Jack Stone (Tish) and John Stone (Linda), sister-in-law Joyce Stone.
Dot was of Christian faith and a member of Ashland City First Baptist Church. She retired from the Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk’s office. A volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Ashland City Senior Center she enjoyed doing things in the community. A collector of all things chickens, she had a love for pins, jewelry and shoes. At every holiday you could be sure to find her house decorated and her wearing a festive holiday pin or sweater.
She was always full of laughter, love and brutal honesty. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Services will begin in the Chapel at West Harpeth at 1:00 PM with Reverend Mark Stone officiating. Burial Service will be on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 3:00 PM EST at Marmet Memorial Gardens, Marmet, WV. https://www.westharpethfh.com
