Edward Prince Foster was born May 6th, 1947 and passed away March 9th, 2026. Ed grew up in Columbia, TN and ultimately made his home on Green Acres Road in Joelton, TN. Ed was particularly proud of completing his BA in Marketing at MTSU where he was a member of the Rifle Team all 4 years and where he completed his ROTC service. Ed then served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.

Ed valued a good day’s work, whether it was with his flowers, in his garden, or at his employment with Unarco for 18 years. Ed had many passions over the duration of his life and when he cared about something he gave his full attention. This was always first and, foremost, his two sons: Brian and Keith, and his Linda. Ed loved his Linda. Ed enjoyed hunting across the US. Most who spent time with Ed will recall that he loved baseball; games, cards, and memorabilia. One of his favorite stories to tell was of a game between the Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers where he missed a home run by Bo Jackson taking a young Keith to the bathroom in the early 1990s. Even in recent years he would randomly exclaim “Who goes to the bathroom when Bo Jackson is up to bat?!” Ed enjoyed his daily cigar from his cigar collection and birdwatching from his place on the porch. In his later life Ed committed many hours fixing broken toys and clocks for the Joelton Hope Center. He also became a huge University of Alabama football fan, to some degree to lovingly harass his daughter-in-law.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents Barnett and Ella Rhea Foster and his uncle and aunt; Dolphus and Ann Foster. Ed is survived by special friends John and Linda Adamson and Pat Biggs, his sons Brian and Keith (Alison) Foster; his grandchildren Caitlin and Collin Foster; and his devoted wife of 47 years, Linda (Murphey) Foster.

A visitation will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Friday, March 13th, from 3:00PM to 7:00PM. A private graveside service is to follow. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in Ed Foster’s name to the Joelton Hope Center or Cheatham County Master Gardeners.
