Elizabeth Ann (Vasquez) Parillo, age 63, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

She was known by many names including Liz, Lizzy and Mommer. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 1, 1961, Elizabeth loved her family and friends with a deep kindness and rare sense of unselfish giving. She had a light that made anyone around her feel cared for, safe and loved. A Texan by birth and at heart, she spent many years with her husband Paul in Atlanta.

There was nothing she loved more than the people around her, and she showed that love through humor and conversation, cooking and celebrating, and gentle words of wisdom. A mother and grandmother (Yaya) in the most divine sense of the word, she will be remembered as an eternally stalwart protector and supporter of her family – a family she defined not by blood, but by chosen closeness. In life and in death, Elizabeth was selfless: she is an organ donor.

She is preceded in death by her parents Yldefonso Vasquez and Sara (Bustos) Vasquez; sister, Irma Garza; aunt, Mary Bustos, and brother-in-law Efrain Davis.

Her unwavering light continues to shine through her husband, Paul Parillo, children, Vanessa Olivarez and Antonio Parillo (Kym); brothers Mark Vasquez(Elizabeth) and Yldefonso Vasquez, Jr. (Kathy); sisters Sofie Reina (Phillip), Elsa Davis, Sandra Ramirez (Oscar) and Leticia Vasquez; and grandson, Luca Parillo.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm in the Chapel. Visitation will be the same day from 12 noon until the service hour of 2 pm.
