OBITUARY: Elman Otis “Mac” McGlasson

Elman Otis “Mac” McGlasson, age 95, passed away on March 8, 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on April 28, 1930 in Moline, Kansas.

Mac served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a loving husband to Betty. They shared an incredible 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2018. Mac was well known in the Ashland City community as the owner of a local grocery store and later through his work at State Industries and Walmart. He was a friendly, personable man who genuinely loved connecting with people. Mac was also a skilled gardener and enjoyed growing vegetables to share with family, friends, and neighbors. His life of kindness, warmth, and faith leaves a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo (Freeman) McGlasson; his parents, W. H. McGlasson and Cora Dolly McGlasson; his brothers, John (Paulette) McGlasson and Delbert McGlasson; his sister, Nedra Giles; his brother-in-law, Larry Trotter; his sister-in-law, Pat McGlasson; his son Michael McGlasson; and his grandson, Marshal McGlasson.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert McGlasson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Carl McGlasson of Overbrook, Kansas; his sister, Dixie Trotter of Winfield, Kansas; and his sister-in-law, Diane McGlasson of Kilgore, Texas. He is also survived by his children, Bruce McGlasson and Linda Foster; his foster son, Billy Miller; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brett Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm and Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 11am until the service hour of 1pm.
