Clifton Eugene Underwood “Gene”, age 80 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 18th, with Bro. Jim Clark officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham with Josh Robinson, Dylan Morton, Tommy Underwood, Peyton Biggs, Korey Douglas, Derek Underwood, Alec Scott, Wyatt Thomsen, and Easton Duncan serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 17th from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM.
Mr. Underwood was born on February 22, 1941 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late William & Nora Fredonia Neblett Underwood. He was retired after 45 years from Acme Boot Company. Mr. Underwood was a simple man who loved being with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed watching them play ball and attending their birthday parties. He was also an avid Kentucky basketball fan. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Fred, Leroy, and Lawrence Underwood; and sister, EmmaNell Grey.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Gail Underwood; sons, Brandon (Christi) Underwood and Darryl (Melissa) Underwood; daughter, Denise (Brian) Biggs; and grandchildren, Brittany Robinson, Kristen Underwood, Kelsey Duncan, Elizabeth Crowder, Kali Morton, Meagan Underwood, Tommy Underwood, Peyton Biggs, Korey Douglas, Derek Underwood, and Kaylee Biggs; and 11 great-grandchildren.
