OBITUARY: Hazel Hooper Musser

Hazel Hooper Musser, age 92 of Chapmansboro passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center.

Ms. Musser was a resident of Cheatham County for more than 40 years. Ms. Musser was born in Mcewen, Tn on December 26, 1929 to Mr. Daniel Hooper and his wife Lassie Scarlett Hooper.

She was married to Mr. George Musser and together had 7 children. Hazel was employed at Cheatham County Christian Care in the cleaning and laundry department where she worked until her retirement. Ms. Musser was of the Missionary Baptist Faith and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in White Bluff.

She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Lassie Hooper, husband George Musser, and a grandson, Jeremy Tyron.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are daughters Debbie O’Brien(Jim) of Ashland City, Linda Owen(Ty) of Chapmansboro, stepdaughters Sue Tomlin(Wayne) of Ashland City, Joan Miller(Arthur) of Pleasant View, Nancy Teal of Ashland City, and Marlene Thorton. She has one stepson, Marty Musser. Also surviving Ms. Musser are brothers James “Bud”, Malcolm “Pete”, Samuel “Sam” and Nathaniel “Tweet” Hooper, Sisters Edith Strong, Peggy Beecham, and Nancy Hooper. Hazel also leaves behind grandchildren John Tisdale, Sean Tyron, Thomas T. Owen IV, Keenan Owen Alysha Tyron, Shelby O’Brien as well as several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City. Her family will be honoring her as the pallbearers.

Services are under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City.
