Helga Lina Campbell, age 84, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on Friday morning, August 23, 2024.
Helga was born in Trier, Germany, on January 5, 1940, to the late Walter and Theresa Theodora (Mai) Sell.
She met Fred Campbell while he was serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and they enjoyed spending time together at the Rock-n-Roll Club in Germany, dancing to Elvis and their favorite song, Moody River. Helga worked for Genesco and Ashland City School Cafeteria before retiring to be a housewife to her husband and children. She became a proud U.S. citizen on February 12, 1981. Her family will always remember her love for Christmas as it reminded her of Germany.
Helga is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Agatha Mai, and brother, Manfred Sell.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Campbell; daughter, Anita L. Crabtree (Ronald); son, Ronnie Campbell; and granddaughter, Shelly O’Byrne.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 1 pm in the chapel with Brother Leon Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Bearwallow Community Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday before the service from 11 am until service hour of 1 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Campbell, Ronald Crabtree, Donald Crabtree, Brandon Crabtree, Kash Crabtree, and Dalton Crabtree.
