Mr. Henry Marshall Sensing, age 82 of Ashland City, TN (the Petway community) passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
Mr. Sensing was born April 12, 1940 in Charlotte, TN. He was the son of the late Hugh Emerson Sensing and Dora Agnes Spann Sensing.
He was retired from the E.O. Smith Company formerly State Industries, where he worked as a welder. He worked with them for some 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly coon hunting. He loved his bird dogs, beagles, and coon dogs. He was known for being one of the best shots around. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Sensing was preceded in death by several siblings: Raymond Sensing, Eliga Sensing, Leon Sensing, Eddie Sensing, Sara D. Harrell, Alice Sensing, Ruby Ann Moss, and infant brother Donald Sensing.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elaine England Sensing; sons, Andrew R. Sensing and wife Shelly of the Petway community, Randall K. Sensing of the Petway community, his grandchildren, Jeremy Sensing, Marshall Wade Sensing, Tara Gonzalez; 17 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.
A cryptside family service was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum. There was no visitation prior to services. Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
