James Richard “Ricky” Adams (aka – Rabbit), age 69 of Chapmansboro, TN passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 surrounded by family.
James was born on June 10 1953 in Nashville, TN to the late James George and Colyne Hope Callis Adams. He was proceeded in death by a sister, Sandra Gayle (Leslie) Shaffer.
He served in the US Marines where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Certificate of Appreciation.
He was employed by Piedmont Natural Gas (formerly known as Nashville Gas Co) for 36 years. He was a proud Journeyman MTJ as a member of the UA (Local 702).
He loved being “Paw Paw” to his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, and watching old westerns in his retirement.
He is survived by sons, Brian (Erin) Adams, Kevin (Tiffany) Adams, Justin (Keely) Adams; brothers, Scott (Cindy) Adams, Phillip Adams, Carl Adams; grandchildren, Hayden Angus, Deziree Ridgeway, Cameron Adams, Justin J. Adams, Brelee Adams, Miles Adams, and Kylie Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, TN. Burial will follow at the Dunn-Higdon Cemetery in Cedar Hill, TN. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, June 27th and from 11 am until time of service on Tuesday, June 28th at the funeral home. https://www.austinandbell.com
