Jeffrey Timothy Balthrop Obit

Jeffrey Timothy Balthrop, age 65, of Ashland City, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Timmy was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Balthrop of Ashland City; his brother, Jerry Balthrop of Athens, Georgia; and his brother-in-law, George Carr of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Kerri Potts Balthrop; his loving daughters, Rachel (Josh) Stuart of Ashland City, Tennessee, and Lindsey Balthrop of Boston, Massachusetts; and his cherished grandsons, Jace Stuart and Peyton Stuart, who lovingly knew him as “Tim Bone.” They were the joy of his life, and Timmy adored his grandsons, taking immense pride in them and treasuring every moment they shared.

He is also survived by his brothers, Ronnie (Betty) Balthrop and Preston (Diana) Balthrop; his sister, Debbie Carr; his sister-in-law, Virginia Balthrop; and many nieces and nephews.

Timmy was a lifelong member of Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation after 36 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his strong faith, devotion to his family, and the quiet, steady way he showed love and support to those around him.

Family and friends are invited to share memories during visitation from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at EverRest of Cheatham LLC in Pleasant View, Tennessee, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. honoring Timmy’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church.
