Jerry Wayne Higgins, age 82, of Whites Creek, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Tuesday, May 26th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.

Burial will follow in Joelton Hills Memory Gardens with his grandsons Austin Higgins, Tristan Higgins, Micheal Loosli, Colton Higgins, Bailey Higgins, Jacky Higgins serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 24th from 4:00-7:00PM, and again on Tuesday, May 26th, beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Mr. Jerry was born on April 9, 1944, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to the late Robert & Gladys Lester Higgins. He retired from Yellow Freight after 25 years of service. He was a devout Christian who was a firm believer of God’s plan for the family with the mother staying at home to nurture her children. His highest achievement was raising his 4 children to love, respect, and have the highest moral standards. Along with his precious wife, he made sure his children knew the Lord before they ever started school. He kept the family home full of music, songs, fun, and laughter. The family did everything together, including vacations. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting and repairing antiques. Mr. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Higgins, Jr., Charles Higgins, Carl Higgins, and Tony Higgins; and great-grandson, Walker Loosli.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Harriett Higgins; sons, Steve Higgins, Greg (Cathy) Higgins, and Joe (Rachel) Higgins; daughter, Lisa Anne (Jeremy) Binkley; brothers, Donald Higgins and James Higgins; grandchildren, Autumn Higgins, Austin (Willow) Higgins, Tristan Higgins, Micheal (Regan) Loosli, Colton Higgins, Colby Higgins, Bailey (Madyson) Higgins, Jacky (Abby) Higgins, and BrookeAnne Love Binkley; and 7 great-grandchildren.
