Joe Wesley Biggs, age 81, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on May 14, 1941, to the late Joe C. Biggs and Serena Elizabeth (Travis) Biggs.
He was a member of the Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ, an elected constable for Cheatham County District 2 for over 30 years, and a farmer and former employee of A.O. Smith, Midway Supply, and Atkins Construction. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Serena Biggs; brothers, Richard and John Biggs; sisters, Sue Dunn, Nancy Sanders, Audrey Comperry, and Shirley Louallen; granddaughter, Kayla Dawn Biggs, and great-granddaughter, Fanci Burns-Pickard. Joe is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Gloria (Taylor) Biggs; sons, Joe C. Biggs, Wayne Biggs, James Thomason (Ashley); daughter, Kaye (Shanon) Pickard; brothers, B. F. (Effie) Biggs, Roy Biggs, Fred (Pat) Biggs, and Glenn (Sherry) Biggs; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, and Thomas Pickard, James Overby, Jason, Amanda, and Arianna Thomason, and Stormie Brown.
The funeral service will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, at noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28th from noon until 7 pm and on Thursday, December 29th, from 9 am until the service hour of noon.
