Joe Boyd, age 89 of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at his niece’s home.
Mr. Boyd was born on February 11, 1934 in Cheatham County, Tennessee to the late Ervin and Dora Binkley Boyd.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 30 years with A.O. Smith (formerly State Industries). He was a plain-spoken person and was of the Church of Christ faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Boyd: sisters, Bernice Guston and Billie Tabb; brother, Charles T. Boyd; nephews, Charles Tabb, Billy Guy Tabb; nieces, Nancy Williams and Alice Hudgens.
He is survived by a sister, Peggy Boyd Binkley; nephews, Scott Binkley and Billy Dee Roe; nieces, Bonnie Hudgens, Irene Blaylock, Betsy White, Gail O’Conner, Judy Bates, and Peggy Jo Hartley; and many great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29, with Bob Binkley officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at EverRest of Cheatham with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Tuesday, August 29th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM and then meet at the cemetery for the graveside service at 1:00 PM.
