Joe Bratton Morgan, Jr., was born May 22, 1939, to Margaret and Joe Bratton Morgan, Sr., of Ridgetop, Tennessee. He married Sandra Jean Jones on March 30, 1960.
Joe was a member of First Baptist Church in Joelton, Tennessee and crossed over to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26th, 2023, at his home in Ashland City, Tennessee. He was 84.
Joe was a driver for Bowman’s Transportation for 21 years and a delivery driver for Circle Delivery for 17 years. He served in the National Guard Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jimmy Dale Morgan; brother, Jerry Donald Morgan; and sisters, Beverly Joy Jones and Deborah Ann Norris.
He is survived by his lifelong wife of 63 years, Sandra Jean Morgan; son, Larry Joe Morgan; daughter, Cynthia Louise Hensley (Jimmy); brother, Rodger Dale Morgan; sister, Jeanette Hogan (Hogan); grandchildren, Amanda Jo Staples (Beau), Chase Lee Morgan (Megan), and Eric Hensley; and great-grandchildren, Landon Lee Morgan, and baby Staples.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 28, 2023, at 1 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home in Ashland City, Tennessee with Pastor David Royalty officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 3 pm to 7 pm and on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 11 am until the service hour of 1 pm. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
