Joseph “Joe” N. York, age 63, passed away at his home in Chapmansboro, Tennessee, on Monday, January 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Springfield, Tennessee, on October 14, 1960, to the late Elmas “Pappy” and Margaret (Pulley) York.
He was a graduate of Cheatham County Central High School, Class of 1979, and most recently worked for DET Beverages and previously owned Pizzas and Cream and Cheatham County Floor Covering.
He was an avid UT Football fan and loved cooking, grilling, and tailgating, always having a party and living life; loved to have a crowd, especially his friends and family.
He is preceded by his parents, Elmas “Pappy” and Margaret York; son, Brandon Walker; and infant sister, Candace York.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Debbie York; children, Lee Marie York (Joey Hale), Jeff Hobbs (Samantha Valentine), and Jaime Daniel (Sean); brother, Fred York (Joanne), sister, Lana Davenport (Bill); 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10:30 am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery in Adams, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm and on Friday, January 26th from 9:30 am until service hour of 10:30 am. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Ashland City Lions Club or the West Nashville Moose Lodge.
