Julieta “Judy” Lou Rose, age 78, of Charlotte, TN, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1947, to the late Andrew Earl and Juanita Buck.
Judy – known more affectionately as Memaw — was a lot of things. She was loud, nosy, and had absolutely no problem getting into your business whether you invited her or not. She could get under your skin like nobody else. But it was hard to stay annoyed for long, because you always knew it came from love, even when it didn’t feel that way in the moment. She had a way of making people laugh, of lightening the room just by being in it, and of making sure nobody ever took themselves too seriously.
She loved camping and water skiing when she was younger. After she and Kenneth retired, they spent their winters snowbirding in Florida in their camper. She loved her dog, King, and she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandchildren.
She was the kind of person who was a little too much sometimes, and exactly enough the rest of the time. She will be missed more than she probably expected.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Rose; and brother, John Earl Buck. She is survived by her son, Michael Eugene (April) Rose; daughter, Tandy Renea Wheatley; twin sister, Juanita Sue (Wayne) Neal; brother, Andrew Earl Buck, Jr.; grandchildren, Edward Justin (Jessica) Wheatley, Alison Nicole (Lee) Yarbro; Delaney Grace Rose; and great grandchildren, Peyton Rose Wheatley, Reagan Marie Wheatley, and Cohen Edward Wheatley.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Loxley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment to follow at Mt. Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, 3656 Hwy. 49 E., Charlotte, TN.
