Justin Van Alley Obit

Justin Van Alley passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 4, 1982, to Kim and Troy Alley and lived most of his life in Pleasant View, Tennessee.

Justin drew his unwavering strength from his relationships with those closest to him: his soulmate Karen, being Poppie to five step grandchildren, his mother, Kim, and brother, Daniel. Justin had a servant’s heart and fun-loving disposition. His laugh and smile would light up the room. He was a lover of all animals and outdoors, and you could often find him in his backyard gardening or on a lake with a fishing pole in hand. He enjoyed cooking and was a master griller. No one could grill a better steak!

After graduating from Nashville Academy, he followed in his father’s footsteps for his passion for cars. He was the ideal charismatic car salesman! Even while battling cancer over the last month, he never lost his zest for life or his big, beautiful smile. Though he left this earth for his forever home in heaven, we now understand he was showing us how to face every challenge, with kindness, forgiveness and love. And most of all, to remember each day God grants us is a precious gift from him. We should enjoy it fully.

Justin is survived by his mother Kim Alley, brother Daniel Alley (Monica), Grandmother Mary Alley Dowlen, life-long partner, Karen Love, her extended family that cherished their “Poppie” and his favorite dog, Piglet. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Troy Van Alley, and dedicated grandparents Rex and Eunice Read, grandfather, Marvin Alley, and uncle Richie Read.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 12th at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brad Lukacic officiating. Burial will follow in Sango Cemetery in Clarksville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, July 11th from 3-7pm and Saturday, July 12th from 11am until service hour of 2pm.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Daniel Alley, Steve Romans, Sebastian Love, Brandon Love, Josh Ragsdale, and Donald Brady. Honorary pallbearer Jeremy McCutcheon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Justin’s memory to Alive Hospice or Dickson County Humane Society. Celebration of Life gathering will be held 5:00-8:00 P.M following the service at The Nashville Gun Club 1100 County Hospital Road.
