Kathy McNeely, age 81, passed away on September 13, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born in Covington, Louisiana on January 1, 1940. Kathy was a Respiratory Therapist at Forrest General Hospital in Mississippi. She was greatly loved by her community and church family at Gateway Church in Ashland City, Tennessee. Kathy had a contagious laugh and a beautiful spirit that reached everyone she met. She served as a senior officer in the US Navy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Norris McNeely Jr. and Agnes Jordan-McNeely; sister, Olga Vaniska McNeely; and brother, John McNeely.
She is survived by her daughters, Loni Moran, Monica Ainsworth (Michael), Lisa McAtee, and Hope Shaw (Thomas); her brothers, Perry McNeely and Godfrey McNeely; sisters, Joyce McNeely, Ann McNeely Hibbett, and Martha McNeely-Romo; grandchildren, Wesley Moran (Ana), Christina Cole, Stevi Mitchell (Micah), Patrick Ainsworth (Jennifer), Anthony Patterson, Renee McAtee, Haley Vaughn-Klein (Benjamin), Walker Vaughn, Jacob McAtee, Erin Katelin Bridges (Lane), Sarah Lynn Shaw; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zachary, Jack, Josie-Claire, Layke, Bentley, Kaylen, Carson, Vanna, and Cassie.
A celebration of life with the presentation of US Military Honors will be held at Gateway Church in Cheatham County on September 18, 2021 at 4 pm.
