Kay Lovell Drake, aged 75, passed away at her home on Friday, November 28, 2025. Born Brenda Kay Lovell to her late parents, John Dudley Lovell, Sr. and Mary Ida Ragan Lovell, she was a devoted mother, aunt, and friend whose absence will be deeply felt. Prior to retiring, Kay worked as an administrative switchboard operator at St. Thomas MidTown and a receptionist for Vantage Pointe Village.
She is survived by her sons, Troy Alan Drake, Sr. and his children, Troy “Tad” Allen Drake, II, Summer Drake, and Brandy England, and great-grandchild, Brennan Drake; Dennis Sean Drake (Beth Ann) and their children, Hunter Drake, Brianna Drake and Blake Herman; and Heath Lovell Drake and his children, Marylann Leigh Drake and Taylor Drake and a host of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Dudley and Mary Ida (Ragan) Lovell; brother, John Dudley Lovell, II and twin sister, Fay Lovell Louallen.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 1pm to 7pm and on Wednesday from 11am until service hour of 1pm.
