Margaret Elizabeth Douglas, age 85, of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at The Waters of Springfield. A graveside service will be held in the Springfield Memorial Gardens at 11am, Friday, March 20, 2026 to bury Ms. Douglas’ cremains.
Ms. Douglas was born July 7, 1940 in Robertson County to the late Bill and Adeline Douglas. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She loved working puzzle books and watching The Lawrence Welk Show and Days of Our Lives. She loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies and truly enjoyed her life. She was good and kind to everyone and never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Douglas is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Knight. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Susan Knight of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret “Sissy” and Brad Pearson of Goodlettsville; grandchildren, Kurstie (Beau) Scruggs, Michael Maynard, Chris Freels, and Courtney (Tyrees) Jones; and great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Lexani, Davon, Nikolai, Brylan, Kobie, Isiah, Emma and Brackon.
Ms. Douglas’ family would like to thank the nurses at The Waters of Springfield and Gentiva Hospice for the love and care for their mother.
