Nancy Virginia Newland, age 87, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at NHC in Franklin, Tennessee.
Nancy was born in Ashland City, Tennessee, to the late William Franklin and Georgia Davis Cannon.
She was a member of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church, a proud mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Before retiring, Nancy worked in the healthcare industry as an office manager for TriStar Specialty Medicine in Ashland City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Georgia Cannon; husband, Bruce Newland, Sr.; daughter, Beverly (Randell) Tansil; granddaughter, April Tansil; brothers, Willie Ray Cannon, Richard Don Cannon, and Archie Wayne Cannon; sisters, Judy Webb and Katie Mai Hudgens.
She is survived by her son, Bruce B. Newland, Jr., (Elissa); sisters, Melba Pardue, Joyce Evans, Betty Winters, Wanda Bates and Janice (Rickey) Thomas; grandchildren, Chassie Combs (Gregg), Bruce Newland, III, and Brielle Newland; great-grandchildren, Alexis Carter-Tansil Hancock (Hayden), Airreannah Combs, James Combs, Saivyer Combs; great-great-granddaughter, Charleigh Ann Hancock; sister-in-law, Carol Fogg Cannon; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Shiloh Hackett officiating. Burial will follow in Newland Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Saturday before the service from 10 am until service hour of 12 noon. Active pallbearers are Bruce Newland, Jr., Bruce Newland, III, Mark Cannon, Carl Evans, Gregg Combs, and James Combs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund.
