Robert Edward Lee, age 89 of Kingston Springs, Tennessee passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023.

Born in Kingston Springs he was the son of the late Thomas D. and Annie Flowers Lee and was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lela Ophelia Pack Lee and his son, Ralph Edward Lee.

He worked for the Nashville Bridge Company for 29 years where he worked in fabrication. He worked on the layout on the Shelby Street Bridge, Percy Priest Dam and Cheatham Dam. Later he went on to work at Textron where he was a stringer router and worked on the B1 Bomber, Stealth Bomber and several Space Shuttles. He retired from Peterbilt in August of 1996. He was honored by the President of Peterbilt at his retirement ceremony for his outstanding work ethic to the company.

Robert loved his family and above all he loved the Lord. After the passing of his wife, he would spend many hours sitting at the kitchen table, reading, studying and writing his own reference book to the Bible. He was often heard whistling and singing hymns throughout the day. He loved talking to anyone about the Lord.

Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting all his life. He was an avid drawer and loved to invent things. He enjoyed drawing pictures of family, animals, folk art and of dreams he had. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh.

Survivors include his son, Timothy R. Lee of White Bluff, TN; daughter, Joyce O. Lee (Frankie) of Charlotte, TN; daughter-in-law, Patty Lee of Cumberland Furnace, TN; sister, Eva C. Lee of Kingston Springs, TN; 7 grandchildren, Rachel Lee, Jessica Lee, Shearon Lee, Amber Lee, Justin Schmutte, Daniel Lee, Aaron Lee; 7 great grandchildren, Aaliyala Davis, Aidan Davis, Ava Bath, Weston Lee, Hudson Lee, Amelia Lee, Greyson Lee Raymond.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral with Pastor Dan Duke and Bro. Gary Petty officiating. Place of rest will be in the Old New Hope Cemetery in Fairview, TN. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, October 31st from 4 to 8 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
